The Rijksmuseum

Last Saturday I visited the Rijksmuseum. For the first time in my life! One of my 2015 resolutions was to buy a Museum Annual Card because I want to visit a lot of museums this year.

First I visited the exhibition "Modern Times' that sketches the spectacular growth of photography in the twentieth century, based on over 300 highlights from the Rijksmuseum's photography collection. A wonderful exhibition that already ended unfortunately. I bought the catalog as a reference book.

I took some iPhone photos of work that inspires me:

I wandered around in the new rebuild Rijksmuseum and took some photos myself. I can recommend to do street photography in museums. People take funny poses when they are viewing art. This man was determined to be captured in front of the painting.

One of the master pieces of the museum is De Nachtwacht. The painting is constantly monitored by security personnel as you can see.
